The project’s focus was to enhance the overall guest experience. Originally constructed in 1960, major removal and replacement of the Hotels internal services and finishes was carried out.
The Ground floor Entry and lobby has been completely transformed incorporating a new reception, guest lounges, local artwork displays and improved building access to the Perth CBD.
The addition of the stylish executive lounge provides a secure and relaxing area for guests to utilise for rest or work purposes. The project included renovation of 309 guestrooms and creation of 32 new rooms, with new or improved common area and guest facilities across the buildings 11 levels.
Building technology has been upgraded with the installation of a digital key system which allows contactless check-in and room access via smartphone technology as well as improved in-room technology and energy efficient solutions employed throughout the complex.
Adjoining and included in the project is the construction of Hawaiian Property’s new Perth offices and a direct overpass linking the building to neighbouring Brookfield place.
Due to the timeframes required for completion this was a challenging project which involved the removal and replacement of the majority of the buildings aged electrical infrastructure. Construction of in-situ switchboards was a requirement within the basement of the building due to the constraints on space. Working around out of scope areas also proved a challenge with many services being shared between the neighbouring Parmelia House.
